Disaster Situation

Himalayan News Service A waterlogged Dhangadhi bazaar following heavy downpour since Friday. Incessant downpour, landslides wreak havoc in west, far-west Dhangadhi/Mahendranagar Sept 20: Landslides and flood, triggered by incessant downpour, cla-imed 14 lives in different districts in western and far-western parts of the country today. Four people died and 30 are missing in Kailali district. At least 200 houses have collapsed, displacing at least 3,000. Kamali BK of Srilanka Freed Kamaiya camp at Geta was drowned. Three more were washed away at Pahalmanpur and Lamki. The dead have not been identified yet, according to the Kailali District Police Office. Twenty- two from freed kamaiya camps and eight residents of Pahalmanpur VDC are still missing.
