Disaster Situation

Floods caused by heavy weekend rain killed six people in central Vietnam. Ha Tinh province recorded the worst toll with four people dead, while neighboring Quang Binh and Quang Tri provinces reported one each, said the national flood and storm control department in Hanoi. At least 13,300 people in Ha Tinh were evacuated to safer areas after 728 millimetres (29 inches) of rain fell, the agency said. State-linked media said thousands of houses have been inundated while transport in some areas was disrupted by flooding. 16 Oct. Serious flood occured again in the centre of Vietnam from Nghe An toThua Thien Hue. The most heavy damage was in Ha Tinh province after theDam was broken. The level of rivers are rising rapidly.
