Disaster Situation

The Jakarta Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) reported on Wednesday that four residents, including a 5-year-old girl, had died due to various causes relating to flooding in capital. As many as 5,152 people have been evacuated and placed in 35 shelters as of Monday morning, after the floods affected 31 villages in 18 districts in the capital. The four worst flood-affected areas in East Jakarta were Cawang, Cililitan, Bidara Cina and Kampung Melayu. In Kampung Melayu alone at least 1,508 homes have been inundated, forcing 212 of the 3,427 residents to evacuate.
