Disaster Situation
A huge earthquake (M7.5) just happened a hour ago, which is located in Nepal, close to South Tibet of China to the north, and India to the south. The Capital of Nepal, Kathmando could be heavily affected by this very shallow earthquake according to USGS preliminary report. There is no hazard details reported yet so far, but it must be a very strong shaking influencing a very large area among the neighbor countries. So we request emergency observations around the epicenter regions from now on. ALOS-2 data for Interferometry (InSAR) is absolutely the highest priority approach expected. Please have a fastest observation of the earthquake area!! Thank you very much for the cooperation in Sentinel Aisa!! Jianbao Sun Institute of Geology, China Earthquake Administration.
