Disaster Situation
Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki in East Flores, East Nusa Tenggara, erupted on June 17 at 5:35 PM WITA, emitting an ash plume over 11 kilometers high. The Badan Geologi Kementerian Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral (ESDM) reported six eruptions between June 18 and 19, 2025. In response, the Kementerian Perhubungan temporarily closed three airports in NTT—Fransiskus Xaverius Seda, Soa, and Haji Hasan Aroeboesman—to ensure aviation safety. Data from Pusat Pengendalian Operasi Penanggulangan Bencana (Pusdalops-PB) BPBD NTT indicates that East Flores and Sikka regencies were affected, with 1,140 households (4,954 individuals) impacted and 713 households (2,359 individuals) evacuating to the Titihena District Field Post.
