On 11 October 2026, a landslide-induced flash flood struck the Budhi Gandaki River basin in Gorkha District, Nepal. The event is believed to have been triggered by a large landslide that temporarily dammed the river in the upper reaches of Chumnubri Rural Municipality, followed by the sudden release of impounded water and debris. The flood caused extensive damage to settlements, bridges, roads, and other infrastructure along the river corridor, and prompted evacuation warnings for downstream communities.
