Disaster Situation
Super Typhoon Meranti is barreling down on Taiwan, bringing wind speeds of up to 230 miles per hour, faster torrential rains. More than 120,000 households in Pingtung, Hualien and Taitung Counties have experienced power outages due to super typhoon Meranti, after strong winds battered southeastern Taiwan. It warned of the risk of flooding and mudslides as high winds and lashing rains were expected.
